I Olympics Regional From  Tourism

Take part in the 1st Regional Tourism Olympics and discover the full potential of your municipality.

The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness and make optimum use of resources that can be converted into tourist attractions, enhancing their value, respecting cultural and architectural assets and traditional values.

Register your group of students from 4ºEso and 1ºBaachillerato and take part in this Olympiad.

Register and start creating

The 1st Regional Olympics ,"The Tourism Career " consist of a competition, where groups of students, with a maximum of 4-5 people, must carry out a project with transversal contents from different subjects in order to to enhance, revitalise, reactivate or empowerr an existing or a new tourism project of their municipality based on the resources devised by the pupils.

All participating groups must be registered under the button "Registration of Applications".  

After registration, the student delegate of each group and tutor will receive a confirmation e-mail with the access codes to carry out the project through a virtual classroom where he/she will find a didactic guide with the steps to follow.

How lo we do? 

Registration of
candidatures

Applications can be submitted via this website from 10 December 2024 until 31 January 2025.

Once registered, they will receive access to the Olympics virtual classroom where they can start working with a didactic guide.

Presentation of projects

The presentation of the projects chosen by each school tutor will be carried out telematically in the same virtual classroom. from 31 March to 14 April 2025.

The selected projects will have to present an informative poster, a brochure and a video presentation.

Delivery of
awards

The finalist groups from across the Region selected by the Regional Tourism Olympics judging committee will be notified on 12 May.

The awards ceremony will take place in the last week of May 2025.

Subjects and Valuation

The evaluation will be carried out by the evaluation committee of the Olympiads.  The maximum weighting will be 12 points. The works with a score of more than 10 points will be considered outstanding and will have access to be presented in their municipal tourism offices. The three regional finalists will receive a tourist voucher for the region of Murcia and the winning group will receive a €1,000 scholarship-check for their end-of-year trip. The teacher-tutor of the winning project will receive two special passes to a music festival that supports the tourism brand of festivals in the region of Murcia.

Spatial planning, as well as the means of communication (transport) are key to the dynamisation of a tourist territory.

The resources available and those necessary for the success of the project should be analysed.

The transmission of the culture of the area, the conservation of the heritage, its dissemination and its survival over time is key for the territories to value their traditions and maintain them over the years.

The project must have an economic feasibility plan presenting the investment and the economic impact on the municipality. A budget must be drawn up that takes into account all the necessary financial and financial resources. Likewise, an organisational chart must be drawn up with the professionals who will be required to execute the project.

The great importance of preserving and regenerating the environment and its use as a tourist resource makes it inevitable that measures will be devised to combine the promotion of tourist initiatives with the enhancement of protected areas, species and other natural resources, with sustainability as a guide in all the proposals presented.

The proposal must be presented in a 4-page A5 brochure in at least one language other than English.

The finalist groups selected from each class must have a video presentation in Spanish or English in mp3 format of 5 minutes maximum where all areas are justified.

The finalists' works will be presented in the tourist offices of the different areas.

The winning group will receive a cheque for €1,000 for their end-of-year trip.

The second and third prizes will receive a tourist voucher for the Region of Murcia.

The groups with 11 points will receive a plaque for their contribution to the dynamisation and competitiveness of tourism in the municipality.

The teacher-tutor of the winning group will receive two passes to a music festival supported by the brand Turismo de Festivales de la Región de Murcia.
